Flame work that’s what is going on today in the studio. This is the set up before the flamework starts, lovely rows of mandrels all dipped and ready for the glass to be melted onto them. The coloured glass rods are sitting beside them all ready to go.
I buy Venetian Murano glass in rods called Effetre. The glass comes in 100’s of different colours which can be mixed to create much more. The final stage, once the beads are off the mandrel, is for them to be cleaned, not such a fun job which requires a dremel to remove the bead release and some warm soapy water to help them sparkle and shine, then it’s time to thread them.
At the moment I am working on the “Sweet As” collection of necklaces which should be ready very soon. If you like this post share it with you friends.
